Made from the kernels of wild picked mangoes in Odisha, we seek to honor the integrity of the land and offer it in its raw unrefined form. Sourced from the tribes of the Karanjiah block of the Mayurbhanj district our goal is to bridge the gap between the tribes and the global market by providing them fair recognition and equitable financial returns for their work. We monitor its quality from the raw ingredients to its final finished form. All methods of processing preserve the integrity of the mango kernels making sure the final product does not lose its essence.
The kernels are cleaned and dried. They are then split to remove the mango seeds. The seeds are crushed to extract its fat. The fat is filtered to remove all impurities and then heated to make it odorless which makes it ideal for cosmetic formulation. Finally, the butter goes through another filtration process and stored in a cool dry area. It is then transported in reefer containers to preserve its state.
Organic Mango Butter has been vital for many responsibly formulated cosmetics. Being rich in saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, it is great for nourishing the skin and forming a skin barrier. Oleic acid makes the skin more permeable which enables it to be a deep moisturizing ingredient. Its occlusive properties are due to the Stearic acid present in it that prevents moisture loss from the skin locking in hydration. Palmitic acid also contributes to its barrier forming property which is a saturated fatty acid that makes the skin smooth. Furthermore, it’s Linoleic Acid supports skin repair and reduces inflammation. Mangiferin is known to contribute to its anti-aging properties which improves skin elasticity.
With a melting point of 35.2°C to 37.5°C and a comedogenic rating of 2 it gently melts into the skin without clogging the pores allowing easy application. It’s saponification value ranging from 18.9% to 21.2% (KOH/g) shows strong potential for making soaps and creams.
